Guidry was hired back in 1981 to be the VC girls’ basketball coach but did not coach a game for about four years.
She had to patiently wait for that position to reopen because a male assistant football coach was hired and the male coach became the girls basketball coach. Guidry had to settle for being the tennis coach and cheerleading coach.
