Erath Bobcats reach finals of district tourney

ERATH – The No.3 Erath Bobcats came from behind to defeat the No.23 Kaplan Pirates 11-4 in the semifinals of the District 5-3A tournament Thursday night in front of a rowdy crowd at Ross Granger Field.
Erath (20-6) advances to the finals, riding a five-game winning streak. They will host the winner of Kaplan and Crowley on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the finals.
Bobcats head coach Jeremy Picard credited his team’s experience as the main factor propelling Erath to victory.

North Vermilion baseball peaking at the right time

LEROY - The North Vermilion Patriots are peaking at the right time of year.
Heading into Saturday’s end-of-the-season district baseball tournament, the Patriots have won 10 in the last 12 games.
Their two defeats in that stretch were against Southside (7-6) and Teurlings Catholic (2-0).
The Patriots are back in action Saturday at 11 a.m. in their end-of-the-season district baseball tournament. They play Teurlings Saturday morning.

For those unfamiliar, Vermilion Soccer Club stands as the sole soccer club within Vermilion Parish, providing a platform for players of all ages to hone their talents and foster a love for the beautiful game.

Vermilion Biddy Basketball Team places third at Nationals

PLACING THIRD AT NATIONALS - Recently, the 7 and 8 year old Vermilion Biddy All Stars played in Thibodaux this past week. They placed third out of 18 teams in the Biddy National Championship.
