VC has district showdown with Central Catholic on Tuesday

For quite a few years, the Vermilion Catholic Eagles have been longing for an outright district baseball title. In the past, they had to settle for sharing the title with other teams.
However, this year is different.
The current baseball team is in a favorable position to secure a rare outright district baseball title. With only two district games left to play, one of their opponents is the Central Catholic Eagles, who have a record of 17-5, with two wins and one loss in the district.

After crossing home plate against Centerville, VC’s Ayden Beraud removes his helmet. Beraud showcased his skills by hitting a 2-run home run in the fourth inning. Not only that, but he also holds the top spot in batting for the team with an impressive .383 average.

VC baseball team wins three games this week

The Vermilion Catholic Eagles had a busy week this past week and came away with three wins.
On Tuesday, they crushed Jeanerette 15-0. The next day, they nipped Breaux Bridge, 4-3, scoring the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
On Thursday, in a district game, VC crusied to a 10-3 win over Centerville and improved to 4-0 in district.
Against Jeanerette, VC scored five runs in the first three innings and and led 15-0.
In the game, the Eagles had only four hits. However, Jeanerette walked 14 Eagle batters.

Believe it or not, the high school baseball and softball playoffs are just two weeks away.
Here is where Vermilion Parish baseball and softball teams stand, with only a few games remaining.
The LHSAA softball playoffs will begin on April 10. All first round games must be played by April. 13.

VC Lady Eagles get big win against Hanson

The Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles won a crucial game on Thursday, defeating the Hanson Lady Tigers with a score of 10-5.
This was their ninth victory of the season, and it has all but ensured their place in the Select Division IV playoffs. VC is currently ranked 20th, and the top 24 teams qualify for the playoffs. VC has two games scheduled for Saturday and will end the season on Tuesday.
The Lady Eagles were trailing Hanson 3-1 after three innings, but they managed to take the lead for good by scoring three runs in the fourth inning.

Kaplan pitcher throws no-hitter, fans 14 batters

KAPLAN - Briley LeBeouf, the senior pitcher for Kaplan, showcased her dominance both on the mound and at the plate, leading the Lady Pirates to a resounding victory on Tuesday night.
Kaplan beat Holden High School 8-0.
The Lady Pirates had 10 hits, but LeBeouf did not allow one hit. In other words, she pitched a no-hitter.
LeBeouf also went 2-for-4 at the plate and knocked in four runs.
She pitched seven innings, walked one, and struck out 14. She threw 81 pitches, 65 of which were strikes.
