Five high school baseball teams are expected to make the LHAAA high school baseball playoffs.
The LHSAA will release the brackets on Tuesday, and five parish teams are in.
In Division II Non-Select. Erath (21-6), North Vermilion (17-11), and Kaplan (13-13) will make the playoffs.
In Division IV Non-Select, the Delcambre Panthers (9-15) will advance to the next round.
In Division IV Select, the Vermilion Catholic Eagles (16-7) will make the playoffs.
LEROY – The North Vermilion Lady Patriots proved they are ready to make a serios playoff run by defeating the Kaplan Lady Pirates 3-1 in their regular season finale.
North Vermilion finished the regular season with a 22-6 record, including a nine-game winning streak to conclude the season.
In their final three regular season games, the Lady Pats defeated the seventh-ranked team in Division II Non-Select, the fourth-ranked team in Division II Select, and the defending Division III Non-Select state champions.
The Kaplan Pirates got the win it needed to secure a playoff berth after crushing the Westminsters Crusaders earlier this week.
Before this weekend, it was the 13th win of the season for Kaplan.
The big stick in the game was Karter Meaux. He had three hits in three at-bats in Kaplan’s 11-1 win.
He had a double in the first, second, and fourth innings.
Kaplan scored five runs in the first inning.
Remi Broussard doubled and scored Aiden Gaspard, tying the game 1-1 in the first inning. Hayes Mire singled home another run, giving KHS the lead, 2-1.

The team coached by Chris Breaux comprises the following members (listed in no particular order): Abigail Hebert, Adi Donner, Bailey Hargrave, Bella Antanaitts, Brylee Moreau, Elise Bourque, Emery Hancox, Emily Landry, Gabriella Sagrera, Katherine Runnels, Kathrine Andrus, Laura Braga, Lily Shute, Raynee Simon, Samantha Padilla, and Sydney Campbell.

Revolution 12-13: Revolution 12/13 stands proudly as finalists of the tournament, showcasing their hard work, determination, and teamwork. Team members include Austin Hebert, Cole Henderson, Ethan Boutte, Greyson Broussard, Jaxon Moreau, Jobe Vice, Kameron Desormeaux, Kruz Cornner, Landon Roche, Liam Trahan, Sam Vidrine, and Samuel Dailey (not pictured).
This past weekend, the fields of Houma’s Lakes Soccer Complex witnessed the brilliance of Vermilion Soccer Club as it showcased it talents at the 9th Annual Bayou Shootout.
With a strong presence, five out of the nine teams within the club’s ranks participated in the tournaments, leaving an indelible mark on the competition.
Among these teams were three girls’ teams: Vermilion Reign 13/14, Vermilion Regin 12/13, and Vermilion Regin 07/08, along with two of the youngest boys’ teams, Vermilion Revolution 14/15 and Vermilion Revolution 12/13.
