Vermilion Catholic beat Breaux Bridge, 28-18

BREAUX BRIDGE — The Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles claimed their first win of the season on Tuesday with a 28-18 shootout win at Breaux Bridge.
Vermilion Catholic trailed 8-6 after one inning but scored 12 runs in the second inning to lead 18-9 heading into the third. Breaux Bridge closed the gap to 20-15 after scoring six runs in the bottom of the third.
The Lady Eagles added eight runs in the top of the fourth inning and held BBHS to one run in the fourth and two in the fifth for the final 10-run mercy-rule win.

Petry’s walk-off double lifts Pirates to 8-7 win over David Thibodaux

KAPLAN — Carter Petry doubled in Aiden Gaspard in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Kaplan High to a dramatic 8-7 walk-off win over David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy on Monday.
David Thibodaux led 6-0 after scoring five runs in the top of the third inning, but the Pirates scored three runs in the third and three in the fourth, trailing 7-6 after the Bulldogs had tacked on a run in the top of the fourth inning.

North Vermilion completes sweep of Erath baseball team

The North Vermilion Patriots got strong pitching performances from Aiden Leonard and Landon Duhon to sweep the final two games of their three-game series with Erath over the weekend.
Leonard allowed two hits and struck out nine while walking one batter over six shutout innings in a 7-0 win on Friday.
The Patriots then got a complete-game performance from Duhon to sweep the three-game set with a 6-1 win. Duhon allowed one run on two hits with eight strikeouts and a walk. Duhon also finished the earlier game, striking out three in one inning.

Ian Erbe hit two home runs for the Patriots

Erbe rips two homers in North Vermilion's win over Erath

Ian Erbe would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Thursday, driving in four on three hits to lead the North Vermilion Patriots past the Erath Bobcats 15-5 on Thursday.
Erbe drove in runs on a home run in the third, a home run in the fifth, and a groundout in the sixth.
Before Thursday, Erbe had not hit a home run this season.
