Hebert has five-hit day for Kaplan Lady Pirates
Kailie Hebert had a busy day at the plate on Saturday, smacking five hits in the Kaplan Lady Pirates’ 10-1 victory over Highland.
Hebert singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the fourth, singled in the fifth and singled in the sixth.
Kaplan opened up scoring in the first inning. Jayden Baudoin drove in two when she singled.
Kaplan scored five runs in the fifth inning. Kaplan’s big bats were led by Lanie Labry, Carina Chargois, and Baudoin, who all drove in runs.
Lexi Broussard earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Kaplan. She allowed seven hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking zero. Broussard recorded the last 20 outs to earn the save for Kaplan.
Kaplan racked up 17 hits. Hebert, Chargois, Baudoin, Molly Sistrunk, and Broussard all managed multiple hits for Kaplan.
Kaplan won big over Lafayette High 12-1 on Saturday morning.
Kaplan pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second, Kaplan’s Lexi Broussard hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored Then, Kailie Hebert drew a walk, scoring one run, and Carina Chargois tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs. Lauryn Packard singled on a 2-0 count, scoring another run.
Chargois led the Lady Pirates to victory on the rubber. She allowed five hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
Kaplan launched one home run on the day. Packard had a homer in the fifth inning.
Kaplan totaled 14 hits in the game. Lanie Labry, Chargois, Janiya Small, Molly Sistrunk, and Packard all managed multiple hits for Kaplan.
Labry led Kaplan with three hits in three at bats.
