Abbeville working on solution to issue with free-range chickens

Whose chicken is it anyway?
The City of Abbeville is trying to find the answer to that question for the many chickens that are free range in various parts of the city. The Council discussed the issue Tuesday during an ordinance committee meeting.
“We have a recurring problem,” City Attorney Ike Funderburk told the Council during the committee meeting. “No one wants to claim the chickens to be theirs. We don’t have video of them taking the eggs from the chickens, but we do have video of chickens running around neighborhoods.”
