Andy Perrin, chairman of the Executive Committee of the Acadian Museum, announces that the Acadian Museum will induct Leo Touchet into its Order of Living Legends on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
 The event will take place at the Joie de Vivre Restaurant, Cafe & Bar, 107 N. Main St., Breaux Bridge, LA  70592 at 1:30 p.m.
Leo Touchet’s earliest memory of photography was at the age of six in his hometown of Abbeville, when an uncle returned from World War II with boxes of photographs he had taken, and he has since wanted to travel.

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon at approximately 5:34 a.m. Wednesday morning a call was received from the owner of Duhon’s Gun Shop in regards to an alarm activation and noise coming from inside the gun shop.
Two (2) Patrol Units responded and arrived on scene at 5:41 a.m. and a perimeter was established.
Abbeville Police Department responded with their K-9 to begin tracking. During tracking, a bag and a bicycle were recovered near the edge of a sugar cane field in close proximity to the gun shop.

It is never an easy day, but for the family and friends of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, it is an important day.
Many joined Friday morning at the Abbeville Police Department for the John “Dooley” Hardy Memorial. The service is held each year by the Fraternal Order of Police John “Dooley” Hardy Memorial Lodge 48 to honor fallen officers from Vermilion Parish.
