Acadien Connection: David, Hebert connection goes way back

Dwayne David will travel to the Congrès mondial Acadien (CMA) 2019 this August, but it’s not his first Congrès. During CMA-Louisiane 1999, Dwayne participated in the David family reunion.
The descendants of Jean David, dit Saint Michel gathered on August 7, 1999, in St. James Parish to renew acquaintances and to discover all they could about their ancestors. At that reunion, Earl David of Dallas, Texas, shared his genealogy research about the David family.

Before Hurricane Barry made landfall, Abbeville city workers had sandbags ready to hand out. When the storm arrived, most of the sandbags were given out.

There are still two months until the peak of hurricane season and the season doesn’t officially end until Nov. 30.
Being prepared remains important.
People in Vermilion Parish were definitely prepared prior to Hurricane Barry hitting the area this past weekend. A big part of that preparation included gathering sandbags.

I would like to thank the People of Vermilion Parish and District 11 for the past 12 years.
Over that time, I have worked on making improvements to District 11, including serving the Road, Courthouse, Finance and Public Works Committees, and as Police Jury Vice President.
My experience as a local businessman has made me a successful police juror. I have worked for the public, and served, with honesty and integrity.
