Louisiana COVID-19 cases rise again

Coronavirus numbers were up again Wednesday in Louisiana by 1,187 additional cases over a 24-hour period. Louisiana Department of Health reports a moderation in the death rate, posting 34 more deaths when 54 Louisianans had died the day before. LDH reports 6,424 Louisianans have the Coronavirus of which nearly 1,500 have been admitted to hospitals. Nearly 500 are on ventilators and hospital officials say they are running out of the machines. Ventilators enable patients to cut recovery times by up to 75%.

Vermilion, Cameron parishes have no confirmed COVID-19 cases -- yet

As of Wednesday afternoon, Vermilion Parish and Cameron Parish are the two southern parishes in Louisiana that have no confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Each day at noon, the Louisiana Department of Health updates its website on the number of COVID-19 cases in the state and in each parish.
Becky Broussard, the director of Vermilion Parish’s Office of Emergency Preparedness, has no solid explanation as to why Cameron and Vermilion do not have any cases.
“I just hope it stays that way until April 13,” said Broussard

BSEE Director to Head-up Interior Department Royalty Policy Committee

The Director of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Scott Angelle will now serve as the chairman of the Royalty Policy Committee (RPC). Appointed by U. S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, Angelle had been serving as Acting Chairman. His role as Chairman is in addition to his current role as the BSEE Director.
