Applications being accepted for White Lake Teal Season Lottery hunts

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is accepting applications for the 2019 lottery teal hunts on the White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area (WCA) in Vermilion Parish.

Available dates include Saturday, Sept. 14; Sunday, Sept. 15; Tuesday, Sept. 17; Thursday, Sept. 19; Saturday, Sept. 20; Sunday, Sept. 22; Wednesday, Sept. 25; Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29.

Brittany LeBeouf is the new Kaplan softball coach.

Brittany LeBeouf is new softball coach at Kaplan High School

KAPLAN - No other person knows Kaplan High softball better than Brittany LeBeouf. She has been associated with the softball program since she was four years old.
Today, she is 25 years old and was named the new head softball coach at Kaplan High.
LeBeouf becomes only the fourth head coach of the program since it began in 1991. She is, however, the first female head softball coach at Kaplan High.

Vermilion Catholic’s Ethan Lege lands on Class A All-State Team

Vermilion Catholic senior Ethan Lege closed out his high school career by landing on the Class 1A Sports writers All State Baseball Team.
Lege made the team as a utility player for the Eagles. He had a .432 batting average.
Ouachita Christian Clint Hargrave was named the Outstanding Player in Class A. Hargrave played catcher and batted .404.
Greg Manuel of Oberlin was named coach of the year on the all-state team.
District foe Central Catholic had two players on the honorable mention all-state team.
