The Kaplan Lady Pirates improved to 10-2 on the year with a win over Central Catholic on Wednesday.

Kaplan Lady Pirates defeat Central Catholic

The Kaplan Lady Pirates were tied 3-3 but went on to beat Central Catholic 6-3 in a non-district game on Wednesday.
The Lady Pirates got things started in the first inning. Lauryn Packard singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
Kaplan pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third inning, Janyia Small doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run to make it a 4-3 game.
Carina Chargois pitched Kaplan to victory. She lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out 11.

Alexis Stelly went 4-for-4 and knocked in eight runs for Abbeville. She was also the winning pitcher for the Lady Cats.

Desiree Henderson batted three times in one inning. She had two singles and a double in the fourth inning.

Abbeville Lady Wildcats score 15 runs in 4th inning, win 20-9

The Abbeville Lady Wildcats defeated Franklin 20-9 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game.
Abbeville was boosted by Alexis Stelly, who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Stelly doubled in the first, singled in the second, and doubled twice in the fourth. She knocked eight runs in the game.
Stelly was also the winning pitcher for Abbeville. She surrendered five runs on two hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six.
Ahni Mire started the game for Abbeville. She allowed one hit and four runs over one-third of an inning

LCA too much for VC in Division IV finals

ALEXANDRIA – The Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles live on high expectations that routinely place them in championship contention.
They were in position again on Friday, meeting district foe Lafayette Christian in the Division IV LHSAA girls basketball title at Rapides Parish Coliseum.
And VC, which won state crowns in 1999 and 2013 under coach Kim Guidry, featured an experienced squad with four seniors who had been to three previous Final Four events.

Madison Prep does not lose in the playoffs. They are 24-1 since 2013.

Madison Prep blocks Abbeville from advancing

BATON ROUGE - Beating Madison Prep’s Chargers in the basketball playoffs is almost an impossible task.
Since the 2013 playoffs, the Chargers have lost only once in the high school playoffs, and that was in the Class 1A finals in 2014.
In 2013, Madison Prep won the Class B state title.
In 2014, Madison Prep finished second in Class A.
In 2015, Madison Prep won the Class A state title.
In 2016, Madison Prep won the Class 2A state title.
In 2017, Madison Prep won the Class 2A state title again.
In 2018, Madison Prep won the Class 3A state title.
