ERATH — The Town of Erath will be without power early Wednesday.
Mayor John Earl LeBlanc announced Monday afternoon that power will be shut off from midnight on Wednesday until 4 a.m.
This will allow crews from Entergy to make repairs.

In the time since he brought the issue to the table earlier this month, Abbeville Councilman Francis Touchet Jr. has heard from and spoken to several people about the city’s potential involvement with Vermilion Oaks Country Club.
Touchet said Friday morning that he wants to make something extremely clear in regard to the city possibly taking over operations of the golf course, he will not push for anything that puts the city in a bad financial situation.

A Kaplan women was arrested by the Louisiana State Police on forgery and filing or maintaining false public records.
Heidie Stelly Romero, 33, of Kaplan, was an employee of the state Office of Motor Vehicles.
According to the arrest report, she was charged with three counts of filing or maintaining false public records, one count of forgery and one count of malfeasance in office. She was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on August 27.
