Lexi Broussard, of Maurice, was crowned Louisiana Christian University’s Homecoming Queen for 2025 during halftime of the football game against Nelson University.
Broussard, an exercise science: clinical wellness major, is the daughter of Sharon Broussard and Mathew Broussard and is a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice. She is a graduate of North Vermilion High School and is a middle infielder for the Louisiana Christian softball team.

The Abbeville Cultural and Historical Alliance received a $5,000 donation from Kinder Morgan, one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America and based out of Houston.
The donation is through The Kinder Morgan Foundation, a private company foundation that supports programs that promote the academic and artistic interests of students in grades K through 12 in select areas of Kinder Morgan’s operations.

Roland LeBlanc enjoys challenging himself. Whether it’s improving his time in a 1,600-meter race, working to strengthen his cross-country team, or attempting to dunk a basketball despite being 41 years old and only 5 feet 7 inches tall, he is always pushing his limits.
Whatever challenges he sets his eye on, he eventually gets to them.
LeBlanc, a 2002 Abbeville High graduate, was honored Thursday night by being inducted into the Abbeville High Athletic Hall of Fame. Also, Harris LeMaire was inducted, who was involved with Abbeville athletics for 40 years.
