Vermilion Parish Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 10 and Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Vermilion Parish Superintendent Tommy Byler made the announcement as officials continue to monitor developments involving Tropical Storm Francine.
“We will make a decision about Thursday once we have further confirmation on the projected track,” Vermilion Parish Superintendent Tommy Byler said. “We want to give all time to prepare for this storm which is currently projected to hit in Intracoastal City on the current model runs.
“Stay safe everyone.”
Officials with Vermilion Charter Academy also announced that the school will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. School leadership will continue to monitor the storm throughout and changes in the expected timeline. If there is a need for additional cancelations or changes, that information will be provided as soon as possible to Vermilion Charter families using all communication methods.
