Carlton Campbell running for Abbeville Councilman at Large

Hello, Citizens of Abbeville,
My name is Carlton Campbell, and I am a candidate for the office of Councilman at Large for the City of Abbeville, Louisiana. The office is becoming vacant, and I can fill the seat.
I was born and raised in the City of Abbeville, Louisiana. I am a graduate of the Herod schools, both elementary and High School. I am a graduate of USL and a graduate of Howard University School of Business and Public Administration and was certified as a business and public administration specialist. I completed the USL real estate course and am a lifetime Notary Public.
I have vast experience in serving on many boards and commissions at the recommendation of my peers and otherwise voluntarily. I have served as chairman of the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board, presently serving as chairman of the Municipal Employees Civil Service board. I am presently serving on the Abbeville Harbor and Terminal Board, having served two terms as President. I am a Commissioner on the Vermilion Parish Economic Development Board, served as chairman of Recreational Board, and recommended the building of the skateboard park that now exists at Comeaux Park. I am also the Governor representative on the Vermilion Parish Board of Elections Supervisors.
I am a member of the Kiwanis International, having been chosen as Kiwanian of the year for 2021.
I am the founder of Coach Herbert Williams Park and was an originator of the first Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr clean-up day that has expanded throughout the city.
I am a retired Clerk of Court employee, worked for five Clerks of Court, the last under Diane Meaux Broussard as chief deputy for twelve years until retirement.
I was elected and served as councilman for District D of the City for Twelve years. Pursuant to an ethics board ruling. I resigned from the council as the ethics board ruling was that I could not serve as councilman and a full-time appointed office-holder. I resigned from the council for economic reasons.
I seek the office as Councilman at Large to resume serving the city. When elected, I will propose ideas to the Mayor and council to make our beloved city of Abbeville a better place to live, work, recreate and retire and to make our city a safe place to live while protecting the taxpayers dollars.
I am married to the former Belinda Grogan. We have two children, both Abbeville graduates. Our son Donovan Campbell is a member of the Abbeville High School athletic hall of fame. Kendra Campbell, our daughter, is a graduate of Northwestern State University.
I am the brother of Charles Campbell, deceased, who served on the Vermilion Parish School Board with distinction.
I solicit your vote and support for my election on March 26, 2022 for the Office of Councilman at Large. When elected, my emphasis will be directed toward economic development, drainage, litter abatement and street surface improvements.
Your vote and support will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Carlton Campbell
