Acadian Ambulance, Abbeville General Hospital hosting CPR training event in Erath
ERATH — Acadian Ambulance and Abbeville General Hospital are hosting two free community CPR training sessions in Erath on Saturday, June 29.
The sessions will be held at the Erath Community Center, located at 100 City Park Dr. in Erath. The first session will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the second taking place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The training will provide instruction on hands-only CPR training and highlight the benefits of bystander CPR. It will also include demonstrations on what to do when someone is choking, and on the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Bystander CPR can increase a person's chances of survival by 2–3 times if performed before paramedics arrive. The survival rate is more favorable when CPR is administered as soon as possible after a person collapses.
Space is limited, so participants should register in advance at this link: https://form.jotform.com/Acadian/vermilion-parish-community-cpr.
