Abbeville Police makes multiple arrests after weekend shooting

Four people have been booked after a shooting occurred at an Abbeville apartment complex Saturday afternoon.
That incident came less than a week after Roderick Guidry died as a result of gunshot wound near the same complex.
On Saturday, September 30, 2023, at approximately 12:29 p.m., The Abbeville Police Department received a call about a shooting at the Live Oak Manor Apartment Complex located at 1610 Martin Luther King Dr.
Officers interviewed tenants at Live Oak Manor. They stated a Black male subject fired numerous shots toward James A. Herod Apartment Complex while a minor was returning fire toward him at the driveway at Live Oak Manor.
Officers met with the management of Live Oak Manor. Officers viewed the video thoroughly and identified all parties who were present during the shooting. Officers were also able to determine what apartment the shooters ran into after the shooting. Officers surrounded the building with the apartment where they determined the suspects fled. As officers approached the upstairs apartment, they saw one of the suspects rush inside and lock the door.
