Cecil Picard Elementary students were selected as the STAR Students of the Month for August. Students selected demonstrate positive behavior by being ready to learn, responsible, respectful, and safe. They received a T-shirt, goodies, and school recognition. A daughter, Miracle Lynette Ava Gage, was born Friday, September 13, 2019, at Abbeville General to Sada Lynette Gage and Anthony Drew Lee Head from Abbeville.
Nevaeh Renee Marie Campbell
A daughter, Nevaeh Renee Marie Campbell, was born Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Abbeville General to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Renson Campbell of Erath.
The mother is the former Brook Renee Campbell.
Dozier Elementary First graders Janie Broussard and Ian Fernandez were selected as the 2019 Flower Girl and Crown Bearer for Erath High’s 70th Homecoming Celebration on September 20, 2019.
This tradition of Erath 1st graders being chosen to serve as crown bearers and/or flower girls goes back to the early 50s.
Janie Broussard is the daughter of Emily Suire and is in Regina Calliouet’s classroom. Ian is the son of Claudia Marin and is in Jennifer Toups’ class.

The LA Cattle Festival is in search of young ladies of all ages and young men ages 0-4 to enter the pageants, to be held on September 7 and 8, 2019 at the Abbeville High Auditorium. Winners will reign over the festival weekend held October 10th thru 13th, 2019. There are age divisions for all to enter. We hope you can “Moove on Down” to Abbeville and join us!
