Who Says You Can’t Do It?

You have dreams, goals, and aspirations. Enthusiastically, you share your plans with your significant other, family, or friends. Instead of sharing in your joy, they give you a lecture on why you won’t succeed. They list all of the things that can and will go wrong.
They know someone who has already tried and failed at the exact thing you are now contemplating. They provide you with a large dose of discouragement. After speaking with them, you question the feasibility of your plans. After all, everyone has advised you to stop dreaming and be realistic.

Struggle

Struggle is a normal part of existence. The only way of avoiding struggle is by never trying to do anything new, not learning, not growing, or not caring about your future. In order to have a rewarding life, you will have to deal with struggle.
Struggle has a destructive impact only when it causes you to give up. Throughout history, no one ever accomplished anything without experiencing some type of struggle. As much as we would all like to experience instant success, it rarely, if ever happens.

Setbacks

Your journey on the road thorough life is not always smooth. There are potholes, obstacles, breakdowns, traffic, bad drivers, detours, wrong turns, and fender benders. Sometimes you even get lost and have to ask for directions. Just like any automobile trip, you keep going in spite of what you encounter.

Curing your cold — and everything else

Practically every south Louisiana community had a store in the middle 1800s like D. R. January’s Crescent Drug Store in Crowley that offered “chemicals, perfumery, fancy stationery, toilet articles, soap, garden seeds, pipes, tobacco, cigars, paints, oil, glass, and everything usually found in a first-class drug store.”
But, most importantly, it sold patent medicines that worked so magically it’s a wonder they are no longer with us. If the old advertising claims were true, we would have no need for today’s expensive prescriptions .
