Two arrested in shooting incident

Two men were arrested after Kaplan Police were called concerning shots being fired at Belleshire Apartments in Kaplan.
The information received was that two black males were chasing and shooting each other. It was also revealed the two involved had gotten into a black vehicle heading east on West Third.
Officers were able to stop the vehicle at West Third and Eleazar where the front passenger fled the scene on foot. He was later located and apprehended,
Arrested were Jamie D. Vallery, 20, of 1627 Graceland Drive, Abbeville. He was charged with aggravated battery, possession of a stolen firearm and disturbing the peace. Bond was set at $11,275. He has since bonded out.
After receiving medical attention for a gunshot wound to the foot, Aaron O. Richard, 33, 507 N. Herpin, Kaplan, was also arrested He was charged with armed robbery and disturbing the peace. No bond has been set because of his habitual offender record.
The weapons used in this case have been recovered.
Other arrests are pending upon further investigation,
Chief of Police Steve Perry would like to commend Sgt. Irwin Cates, Sgt. Scott Lemaire and Captain Virgie Lemaire for their quick response and arrest in this incident.
